Belly- dancer's syndrome???
Belly- dancer's syndrome also known as diaphragmatic flutter.
Can last from minutes to hours, rhythmic and repetitive myoclonic contraction of diaphragm causes painful involuntary abdominal movement like those you see in belly dancer! Patient will also presented with dyspnoea and chest discomfort.
Normally involved both of the hemidiaphragm.
Most likely due to central or peripheral nerve insult ( phrenic nerve involvement) there are lots of other causes too.
Gold standard investigation: diaphragm fluoroscopy and electromyography.
No definite treatment yet.
By the way this is a rare syndrome !
I have this same disorder!
